JMC Philanthropic Advisors is a boutique firm based in Santa Monica, CA, that that provides concierge services for individuals, families, and corporate donors. The firm assists its clients to define and achieve impact in realizing their philanthropic vision, while fostering the joy of giving.

Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As Vice President of Client Services, the sponsor is responsible for the following activities: •Management of client accounts •Research, assessment and monitoring of nonprofit partners •Development of tailored funding strategies •Staff and consultant supervision •Liaison with the philanthropic and nonprofit community •New business development

Extern's Proposed Duties:
The goal of this placement will be to expose the extern to the work of philanthropic advisors and our place in the world of philanthropy and nonprofits. We will provide opportunity for the extern to meet with the members of our team, and to learn about their roles and the career paths that led them into this work. We will expose the extern to some of the core job activities of philanthropic advisors. Depending on scheduling, we will attempt to coordinate the inclusion of a team meeting, external meeting and/or site visit as part of the externship. This externship is suited for a student interested in exploring a career in the nonprofit sector and philanthropy.
