Organization Description:
Fremont Optometric Group is a group private practice. Our function is ocular primary care which includes comprehensive annual exams, emergency visits, contact lens services and ocular disease management. The majority of our patient base comes to us for annual exams.
Sponsor's Responsibilities:
My main function is to see patients during the day. We schedule exams every 30 mins. My additional responsibilities as a partner in this practice is to help run some administrative duties within the practice.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
The purpose of this shadowing experience is to see the typical day in the life of an optometrist set in a private practice. The extern will sit in with me during the exams and we will go over them after wards. Externs will only be here for the morning from 9am to 12pm, after which I'm happy to take them to lunch to discuss any of the morning cases or talk about optometry in general.
