Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As a mechanical engineer in R&D the sponsor receives design inputs from sales, marketing, surgeon and patient needs and translates those into specifications and designs. The sponsor then shepherds the design through testing and into manufacturing/ commercialization.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
Proposed duties may include observing a typical day at work, witnessing tests, attending meetings and design reviews and will include a facility tour. Non-disclosure agreements will be required of all externs prior to visit.
