Organization Description:
U.S. State Department Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, which has a mission not limited to counternarcotics, but also rule of law promotion and a range of anti-crime program and policy initiatives, see www.state.gov, such as counter wildlife trafficking, anti-money laundering, fighting corruption, addressing substance abuse and the opioid crisis, combating cybercrime, etc.

Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As a deputy office director, coordinator oversees teams (Anticorruption and Good Governance; Anti-Money Laundering; Transnational Organized Crime; Wildlife Trafficking; Cyber/IPR; International Law Enforcement Academies). The teams draw upon diplomatic/multilateral tools (establishment of international standards, treaties, regional networks) to advance USG foreign policy/national security interests.

Extern's Proposed Duties:
The extern(s) will shadow me for meetings with interlocutors in State and other agencies, possibly to include DOJ, Treasury, and National Security Council Staff.
