Stacy and Witbeck is one of the country’s largest heavy civil contractors and a top builder of light rail, commuter rail, and streetcar systems. We are recognized throughout the construction industry for our ability to manage complex projects while creating a cooperative relationship with owners, stakeholders, subcontractors, and the communities in which we work.
Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As project manager on this $730 million design-build project, extending light rail into downtown Redmond, WA, the sponsor is responsible for leading the team responsible for designing and constructing the project.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
The extern will observe the project manager's interaction with Sound Transit employees and consultants, the City of Redmond and WSDOT representatives, and the Stacy and Witbeck/Kuney Joint Venture staff. The extern will attend weekly task force design meetings and observe the interaction that takes place during the design phase of a design-build project. The extern will be exposed to structural, train systems, civil, architectural, highway and underground utility design meetings, depending on the days in the office.
