Organization Description:
The MacGregor Alternative Education Center is comprised of Bridgepoint High School, Crossroads Independent Studies Program, and Newark Adult Education Center. We provide educational opportunities to high school students and adults in a supportive environment.
Sponsor's Responsibilities:
The Alternative Programs Administrator/Principal oversees all three programs at the MacGregor site. The Principal oversees day-to-day operations, employee supervision, student discipline, parent and community outreach, budget, and district and regional collaboration.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
The extern will observe the Principal's interaction with staff, students, parents, and community members, sit in on meetings, and observe classroom teachers. If time permits, the Extern may interview teachers and office staff and may be asked to assist with light clerical duties. A volunteer clearance form and providing TB test results must be completed with the district PRIOR to the start of the externship.
