Seven Tepees Youth Program's mission is to work with urban youth entrusted to our care to foster the skills they need to make lifelong positive choices and to create their own opportunities for success.
We do this by providing a safe space after school where we offer an academic space as well as enrichment classes and counseling groups. We also engage our youth in outdoor education trips such as camping, rafting, hiking, etc.
Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As high school program manager, the sponsor is responsible for day to day running of the high school after school program as well as coordinating all high school trips and events. The program manager also case manages about 36 high school youth.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
The externs will support with general learning center needs such as creating posters, setting up the space, etc. Externs can also observe and support any case management needs, such as inputting data or collecting grades. Externs will also interact with youth and support in any after school program activities.
Externs will have to have been fingerprinted to work youth.
