Organization Description:
New York Presbyterian is the largest hospital in the country, and Well Cornell Medical College provides radiology services to half of its campuses. I am based at New York Hospital, the flagship institution on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Sponsor's Responsibilities:
My duties are evenly divided between outpatient, inpatient, and research functions. A typical week includes 2 hours of multidisciplinary medical conferences, 1 hour of lecture, 2-3 days of outpatient radiology service, and 1-2 days of inpatient radiology service, with the remainder in research meetings. My research focus is in prostate cancer imaging, but my clinical duties encompass imaging of the entire abdomen and pelvis.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
After completing online training in patient confidentiality, the extern would observe clinical functions including interpretation, multidisciplinary conferences, and possibly procedures, in addition to research meetings.
