Mission Control Communications (mc²) is a strategic communications agency based in San Francisco working with innovative STEM-based startups that are breaking boundaries in clean energy, electric mobility, natural resources and sustainable space exploration. Since its inception in 2013, mc² has attracted more than $1B in capital for portfolio clients through its award-winning communication programs.
Forging the path to a world in which renewable resources, sustainable materials and business models coexist, then ultimately replace, fossil-based incumbents is no small feat. It hinges on radical innovation and market evangelism powerful enough to incite a sea change. mc² was founded to serve this need.
Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As vice president, the sponsor is responsible for the “owner” of their accounts, guiding daily strategy and execution, generating new positioning that supports client goals and initiatives, ensuring weekly objectives are being met and that clients are happy with campaigns that are operating on message. The sponsor participates in the vision and implementation of Mission Control Communications University (mc²U), the agency’s evergreen internship program.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
The extern will observe the agency’s interaction with clients, sit in on client meetings and meet with other agency staff. If time permits, the extern will monitor media trends in relevant client industries (clean energy, finance, transportation and/or aerospace) and conduct research to inform media relations, social media, and client thought leadership activities such as conferences and awards. A demonstrated passion for clean energy and sustainable technologies is preferred.
