Project Access is a nonprofit organization that establishes and operates resource centers at both family and senior-specific housing complexes in the Bay Area and across the United States. By partnering with housing developers and surveying residents, we are able to bring relevant and useful programs and services to residents where they are living. We also partner with local organizations to develop partnerships and bring in in-kind donations.
Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As Regional Manager for the Bay Area (Oakland, Berkeley, SF, Pinole, and Fremont), I am responsible for overseeing operations and staff at our housing sites. I supervise and provide professional development to our Resident Services Coordinators who work at the sites providing programs such as after school/fieldtrips for youth, community building events, economic stability workshops, exercise classes, ESL instruction, computer literacy, and food distribution. I also maintain relationships with housing developers, on-site property management, and local partner organizations, and I work to bring in volunteers and donations.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
The extern will observe the Resident Service Coordinators in their day-to-day activities at the housing site which could include the programs outlined above, planning and administrative tasks, and/or virtual team meetings. I am also happy to grab coffee and sit down with the extern to share about my role as well.
The extern will need to sign a Special Events Waiver allowing them to be on site/volunteer for no more than 10 days without a background check.
