Organization Description:
The State of Nevada Public Works Division manages capital improvement projects for state owned properties, such as university, mental health, and correctional projects. The Las Vegas office includes 3 architects, a mechanical plumbing, electrical, and structural engineer.
Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As a project manager / architect, the sponsor is responsible for managing projects, ensuring delivery of the building project on budget, on time and at the right level of quality. The sponsor will also assist other project managers in peer reviewing construction documents provided by their consultant design teams.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
Since most tasks are addressed on a day to day basis, it is uncertain what exactly will occur during an extern's visit. Odds are there will be at least one meeting to attend, and lacking that, at least lunch. If at all possible, a site visit will be arranged to observe conditions on a project during construction.
