Sponsor's Responsibilities:
The sponsor is a dentist in private practice and is enthusiastic about dentistry as a career.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
The sponsor will give interested students the opportunity to observe the day to day operation of a dental practice. The externs will observe how patients are treated, how different dental auxiliaries interact with the dentist and patients, and other business activities, i.e. scheduling, billing, and confirming patients. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn what the occupation of a dentist involves.
