Sponsor's Responsibilities:
Jillisa Bronfman is a lawyer focusing on privacy and security, a university lecturer and scholar, a noted writer and media spokesperson, and a mentor to young students. With a joint J.D./M.A. from the USC in law/communications management and a B.A. from UC Berkeley in mass comm/history, she oversaw the Privacy & Tech Project, an academic nonprofit at UC Hastings College of the Law, and was an AGC at Verizon. At CSM, she delves into Edtech privacy and security research, policy analysis, and law.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
Extern will shadow sponsor, participating in research and development of new tools to evaluate Edtech privacy and security. Extern may also have the opportunity to attend live and remote meetings, interview other staff in fields of law and policy, and network with Common Sense Media personnel in our San Francisco office. Extern will have the opportunity to write a blog article about their experience with the externship and what they learned about privacy, security, and the work at Common Sense Media.
