Cerritos College is a public, 2-year community college. It is located in Norwalk, CA. It is a Hispanic Serving Institution. Founded in 1955, Cerritos College is a public comprehensive community college serving an area of 52 square miles of southeastern Los Angeles county. The college offers degrees and certificates in 87 areas of study in nine divisions. Over 1,200 students successfully complete their course of studies each year.
The Cerritos College student body is a majority of minorities: Hispanics, Asians, African-Americans, Pacific Islanders and Native Americans together account for more than 60% of our students.

Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As the financial aid counselor, I meet with students to create a comprehensive educational plan. I talk to students about major selection, career exploration, and how to transfer to a four-year university. Student appointments are 30 min to an hour. I meet with 10 plus students on a typical day.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
Observe the counselor during appointments. Attend regular meetings, if available.
