Organization Description:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons is responsible for the custody and care of over 180,000 federal inmates. The Bureau of Prisons provides a myriad of inmate programs to address needs of our population with an emphasis on recovery and re-entry.
FCI Dublin houses 1,000 female inmates in a low security institution and 200 female inmates in a minimum security camp.
Sponsor's Responsibilities:
As a teacher, I assist inmates trying to obtain their GED in a classroom setting.
As the Public Information Officer, I handle media inquires, institution tours, community relations, and general questions from the public.
Extern's Proposed Duties:
The extern will tour the prison, observe operations, and assist in the classroom.
Extern will need to agree to and pass an NCIC Criminal History Background Check.
